Stoke Damerel Climbing Club was formed in 1992 by a small group of climbers including myself. The original small wall has been extended many times by the Club to now include large overhanging sections (up to a height of 9 meters), bouldering areas and an abseil platform.
We are affiliated to the BMC and run a friendly club for any age or ability geared to initiate, encourage and further the aims of all climbers.
The Club provides equipment of all sorts including harnesses, helmets, racks, guidebooks and reference books free of charge to all members who wish to use them.
Over the years we have forged close links with Stoke Damerel Community College providing them with an excellent facility plus the regular use of qualified instructors for such events as Summer and Christmas Fayres, Activities week and working with disabled youngsters from other schools in the Plymouth area.
I look forward to the next ten years of the development of the club and hope that it retains its current ethos of being a club for climbers - novices or experienced. Feel free to visit us whenever you are in the area.
